They ask for a drastic decision for the ‘Milan scandal’

Marco Serra’s mistake during Milan-Spezia still brings a tail in Italy. Marco Donzelli, president of Codacons (coordination of associations for consumer protection), announced that will formally ask the FIGC to replay the match due to the “serious and recognized referee error”, to protect “the regular development of the season and defend the tifosi”. The regulations, however, allow a match to be replayed if there is a “technical error” (for example, booking a player twice without sending him off), while the one with the braid, which did not allow the play in which Messias scored the possible 2-1 to finish, was a simple misinterpretation.

Meanwhile, the Italian Referees Association was quite upset by the news that it would have apologized to Milan for what happened. That would have created a dangerous precedent, and’Tuttosport‘ e ‘The messenger‘ revealed that the designator of the ‘AIA’ Gervasoni, present at the San Siro, expressed his apologies only on a personal and unofficial level.

Marco Serra, for his part, returned to work in the VAR room for the Sassuolo-Cagliari Copa, and he will be punished, although not as long and serious as the Milan fans were asking for. The referee, who already apologized on the field for his ruling and was in shock in the locker room, will stay out of the green for a couple of days. Barring any surprises, Serra will return to work in mid-February, and he also received compliments on his performance.. The former referee Gianpaolo Calvarese, hablando in ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’, afirmó: “He has apologized, and that is a lesson. It was noticeable in his first gestures: Rebic approached him furiously, and then took his face as if to comfort him. It was beautiful, it’s the first time I see this humanity between a referee and a player. I think that Milan would accept without problems that he manages their games again.” It would be a happy ending.
