These are the Competition jurists who will decide on the Fue Fuenlabrada case ’

The Competition Committee must decide today if it finally validates LaLiga's solution of not playing the match that Deportivo and Fuenlabrada have pending and the allocation of the place for the playoff promotion to Elche.

Magistrates Carmen Pérez, Lucas Osorio and Pablo Mayor are the ones who will decide about the controversial LaLiga decision, which has generated an endless number of reactions and protests from the teams when they understand that it violated their right to equality in the Second Division.

“The Competition Committee will have a resolution this Monday afternoon,” said the president of Fuenlabrada, Jonathan Praena. LaLiga wants the promotion playoffs to start on Thursday with Elche-Zaragoza and Girona-Almería, but first they must wait for what is decided from Competition.

Carmen Pérez González is the president of the Competition Committee. He assumed the position in 2018, months after Luis Rubiales won the elections and Francisco Rubio resigned from this position. She has a degree (1994) and a doctorate (2000) in Law from the Carlos III University of Madrid, where she has been a tenured professor of Public International Law and International Relations since 2010.

Lucas Osorio is the member appointed by consensus between the League and the Federation and a State attorney with a long academic career. He is a partner in the Hogan Lovells law firm and worked for Ferrovial and Metrovacesa.

Pablo Mayor is the member of Competition promoted from the League. He has a law degree with an extraordinary award, was a State attorney between 1991 and 1996 and Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works between 1996 and 1999 (with José María Aznar as President). Since 2010 he has been a partner in the Allen & Overy law firm and has served on the Renfe, Aena and Gif boards of directors.
