The Real spanish soccer federation (RFEF) has announced that as of this Saturday the security protocols in non-professional competitions will be reinforced. Thus, the teams that participate in the First Iberdrola, together with those of Second B and Third for men, Second for Women and First and Second for men's and women's futsal, will be subject to mandatory weekly covid tests.
The RFEF indicates that it will be “every 14 days, provided that in that period there is a competition day or days ”.
With this new measure it is expected to stop the wave of games postponed due to infections from several lines. In fact, up to 14 games of the league have already had to be suspended so far this season. First Iberdrola, following the recently announced between Eibar and FC Barcelona of the eighth day, scheduled for this Sunday (2 pm).
The postponement of the match that Eibar had to play against Sevilla due to three cases of positive for Covid-19 in the Basque team already led to anticipating this new suspension, with which Barça already has three games pending.
There are really damaged teams, like the Vallecano Ray, who when starting the competition later due to the lack of clarity in the sanitary protocol has only played two games, while Levante has four.
The delicate situation has led to the question of whether this edition of the League will end up being adulterated, in light of the difficulties it is encountering.
