There will be no Hungarian fans in Poland due to FIFA sanction

BERLIN (GERMANY), Nov 1 (dpa / EP) –

Hungarian fans will not be allowed to attend the next World Cup qualifier in Poland as part of sanctions imposed by FIFA’s governing body for violence during the recent qualifying match in England.

FIFA said on Monday that the fireworks and the lack of order in the stadium – “inappropriate behavior of the spectators” – in the October 12 game at Wembley is reason to prohibit the entry of its fans in the clash that will take place in Poland.

Hungarian fans confronted the police at Wembley, who had entered the venue to arrest a fan for an alleged racist incident.

The match in Poland is scheduled for November 15. FIFA reported that the Hungarian football association was also fined 75,000 Swiss francs (71,000 euros).

On the other hand, Albania is due to play its last home qualifying match on November 15 behind closed doors after fans threw plastic bottles at Poland’s players who celebrated a goal in a match that was interrupted for about 20 minutes by incidents.

Poland will have no fans in their last match in Andorra on November 12, also for misbehaving in the Tirana match. Mexico must play two games without fans for “discriminatory behavior” in previous duels.
