The XIV Liberty Race for inclusion will bring together more than 6,000 athletes in Madrid

MADRID, 20 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Sunday, May 21, the fourteenth edition of the Liberty Seguros race will take place in Madrid, organized by the company together with the Spanish Paralympic Committee and the support of the Madrid City Council, which will bring together more than 6,000 runners with and without disabilities , popular and professional, under the motto ‘Everyone’s career’.

The Paralympics Yassine Ouhdadi, champion in Tokyo 2020 and winner of the absolute test last year, and the already regulars Alberto Suárez, Mari Carmen Paredes and their guide, Lorenzo Sánchez, and Jordi Madera, all of them with several victories in previous editions of ‘la Liberty’, will be back on the starting line.

Beyond claiming the inclusion of people with disabilities and giving visibility to Paralympic sport, one of the objectives of this test is to raise funds for the Liberty Seguros Team of Paralympic Athletics Promises.

The participants will travel 10 kilometers through some of the most emblematic places in the city, in an itinerary that has been maintained since the first edition and that passes through the Puerta de Alcalá, Cibeles, Plaza de Colón, Paseo de la Castellana or the Stadium Santiago Bernabeu.

Once again, the ‘Carrera de la Superación’ –400 meters long and aimed at people with severe disabilities– will be another of the attractions of the day, which will conclude with children’s events, in which nearly 1,500 boys and girls will participate. .

“Sport is an element that equalizes us all, and helps us achieve goals that seem impossible, which is why it is exciting to see thousands of people running together for a common goal, which is inclusion,” said the CEO of Liberty in the European market, Juan Miguel Estallo.

The Liberty Insurance Team of Paralympic Athletics Promises also draws from the insurer’s commitment to people. This initiative was created in 2007 in collaboration with the Spanish Paralympic Committee, with the aim of helping young athletes with the greatest projection to reach a high level. So far, the company has donated more than 257,000 euros to this initiative.
