MADRID, 5 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish women’s basketball team will concentrate on Monday in Guadalajara to prepare for the last two games of the qualifying phase for the Eurobasket in Israel and Slovenia against Romania and Iceland.
The team led by Miguel Méndez already has their ticket for the next continental event and the goal now is to close the standings with full victories, although they will face both games with noticeable losses and many novelties.
The Galician coach will finally have 13 players for this last ‘window’ after suffering the absences due to injury to Alba Torrens and Raquel Carrera (Valencia Basket) and María Conde (USK Prague). The Balearic and Madrid natives were replaced by María Eraunzetamurguil (Movistar Estudiantes) and Marta Canella (Barça CBS), while the Galician center finally had no substitute. In addition, Méndez has not called other regulars such as Silvia Domínguez, Maite Cazorla, Leo Rodríguez or Astou Ndour.
In this way, the 13 players that it will have are Cristina Ouviña, Laia Flores, Mariona Ortiz, Sandra Ygueravide, Ángela Salvadores, Andrea Vilaró, Laura Quevedo, Paula Ginzo, Irati Etxarri, María Araujo, Laura Gil, María Eraunzetamurguil and Marta Canella . The team will face Romania on Thursday 9 (5:00 p.m.) and Iceland on Sunday 12 (8:45 p.m.).
