The Women's Champions League in Spain is in danger due to outbreaks

The final phase of the women's Champions League, to be held from August 21 between Bilbao and San Sebastián, would be in danger of not being played in Spain. According to the British newspaper The Telegraph, the continental tournament could change venue if the rebound in cases in Spain does not decrease soon.

The outbreaks in Spain have already caused countries like the UK have imposed a 14-day quarantine on people traveling there. The final phase of the Champions League will begin on August 21 with the dispute of the quarterfinals and will end on the 30th of the same month, with the matches being played in San Mamés and Anoeta.

However, UEFA has a contingency plan as in the men's competition to designate other venues in case the rebound of cases is more dangerous. “UEFA will continue to analyze the situation and reserves the right to reassign any match in the final tournament if new circumstances make it impossible for that match or others will be played in the original venues, “explained UEFA. In the competition's quarterfinals are Glasgow City, Wolfsburg, Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Paris Saint Germain, Lyon and Bayern Munich.
