The women’s 4×100 beats the Spanish record

MADRID, 26 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The 17th Iberoamerican Meeting in Huelva left an afternoon of records with the best absolute mark achieved by the women’s 4×100 made up of Sonia Molina, Lucía Carrillo, Paula Sevilla and Carmen Marco.

In Final A, the sprinters confirmed their great preparation, breaking the absolute record with 43.28, three hundredths less than the 43.31 that had been the highest since Tarragona 2018.

The slipstream of the majors was perfectly followed by the youngsters of the Under 18 quartet formed by Adriana López, Naiara Pérez, Laura Martínez and Carla Martitegui, who stopped the clock at 46.31, improving by a wide margin the 46.73, the previous record of 2019.

In this year’s edition of the Ibero-American Meeting, the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA) made a strong commitment to include 4×100 relay events in the official program of the competition, continuing with the national progression in these events.
