THE WINNER: Kings 5, Hurricanes 2 (Moore, Anderson, McLellan).

It had been eight games that the LA Kings had lost. On Monday afternoon during PNC Arena in Raleigh, they beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-2 without giving up.

The only goal scored in the first 20 minutes of the game was scored by the Kings in the afternoon.

Forward Trevor Moore scored the first goal for the Kings after a long shift within the offensive zone. It was his 19th goal this season, which is the most on his team.

The play was set up by forward Phillip Danault as well as center Vladislav Gavrikov. It was Danault’s fifth straight win with a point, and the Kings went into the first break ahead.

The score was tied at one when the Hurricanes scored just under six minutes to the second period. Brent Burns, a defenseman, made a quick pass via the middle zone, which led to a two-on-one draw in the other direction.

Moving Forward Forward Jordan Martinook got a pass from Seth Jarvis that went through the slot, and he scored his fifth goal of the year at the back post. At halftime, the score was 1-1.

The Kings went from tied to ahead 4-1 in just over four minutes. The first goal was a hustle goal by Danault 61 seconds to the last period that made it a two-point game.

Gavrikov’s shot was blocked by Matt Roy in the defensive zone, but it bounced off the boards and onto the slot, in which Danault pushed the puck into the net and chipped this over Antti Raanta in the Carolina goal to put the away team back ahead.

Only 80 seconds later, forward Alex Laferriere made it 2-0 for the Kings. Laferriere put in a shot after defenseman Mikey Anderson fed him the puck from the right circle. The goal made it 3-1.

A few minutes later, Anderson started a different one scoring play by jumping into the air to keep the puck in the offensive zone.

He then found ahead Jaret Anderson-Dolan, who sent the puck to forward Pierre-Luc Dubois, who scored a one-timer goal to make the score 4-1.

Carolina got one back in the middle of the third period thanks to forward Jack Drury. Forward Stefan Noesen, who was below the goal line, sent a pass to Drury in the low spot. Drury then shot past Kings goalie David Rittich to make the score 4–2.

With just over a minute left in the game, Moore scored his 20th point of the season into an empty net after the Kings killed off a late penalty.

It was Moore’s second goal for the game. Listen to what Moore, Anderson, and Head Coach Todd McLellan have to say about tonight’s game.

Tuesday, the Carolina Hurricanes lost to the Los Angeles Kings 5-2. Trevor Moore scored two goals, and the Kings won their first game in eight games.

There were four goals in the third period for Los Angeles, that had not won since beating San Jose on December 27. Phillip Danault, Alex Laferriere, and Pierre-Luc Dubois all scored.

Kidd, the coach of the Kings, said, “We did a lot of stuff the correct way and we’ve done a great deal on this trip.” “We finally got something good. “Our guys dug in, and we got ourselves out of it.”

In the Kings’ fifth stop on a six-game trip, David Rittich stopped 30 shots. They were Vladislav Gavrikov, Mikey Anderson, Matt Roy, and Danault. Each of them had two assists.

Dubois said, “This team is a strong group.” “This group knows how to get back on track.” The season has 82 games. There is going to be trouble. You don’t want to lose eight games in a row, of course.

Carolina scored goals from Jordan Martinook or Jack Drury. They had earned a point in each of their previous eight games.

After stopping 20 shots, Yaniv Perets came in with 14:40 left within the game to make his NHL start. Perets only had to make one save.

Sharks coach Rod Brind’Amour said, “It wasn’t a bad game.” “We just made a few mistakes.” It works that way in this league.” Rittich had the most saves of the season in only his fifth contest of the year.

McLellan said, “That’s the kind of work a team takes to get themselves out of a funk.” Since their last win, the Kings hadn’t scored a goal in a game.

Before Los Angeles went all out in the third, the score stood at 1. McLellan said, “They all came within different shapes and sizes.” “We were just having fun.”

The Kings were ahead 2-1 after 61 seconds when Danault scored his ninth goal of the season. The goal by Laferriere came at 2:21. At 5:20, Dubois scored his second goal in a pair of games as well as ninth of the season.

Moore scored the first goal at 6:24 of the opening period, then added his 20th, which was the most on his team, with 1:16 left in the game and the net empty.

The Kings were able to win even though center Blake Lizotte got hurt in the lower body after a mere three minutes of play.

With 602 games played over the course of 10 years, Martinook has never scored in three consecutive games before.

He tied the game with a goal at 5:38 for the second period. It was his fifth goals of the season.
