The Williams brothers always play in this league

Iñaki Williams and Nico Williams are the only two components of the Athletic first team that have participated in all the League games that have been played to date. The oldest of them heads the list of titles. The little one, the one of lions that more times enter in substitution of a companion.

The Iñaki Williams thing does not surprise anyone at this stage of the competition. The centre-forward of the rojiblanco team has so far accumulated a total of 217 consecutive league games without missing a match. The striker from Bilbao has long ago left behind the mark established in his day by Juanan Larrañaga.

Nico Williams, in his first full season as a player for Athletic’s first team and with a professional contract included, seems to be following the path marked out by his older brother. The normally right-handed winger of Marcelino’s team has also taken part in the 22 league games that the lions have played so far. His number of titles, however, is significantly reduced. Only half a dozen so far. On the other 16 remaining occasions he has left the bench to come on in place of another teammate.

Nico Williams, despite everything, is the only component of the entire Athletic squad that has played in each and every one of the official matches of the rojiblanco team so far this season. To the 22 from the League, therefore, we must add the two from the Cup and the other two from the Super Cup. His brother Iñaki, on the other hand, spent the entire match of the KO tournament against Mancha Real on the bench.
