The ruling by the 19th Court of Instruction in Madrid declaring Nacho Cano to be under investigation contains a set of WhatsApp conversations that the organisers of the musical La Malinche had with the artists who travelled from Mexico to take part in the show. They highlight the instructions given to them for dealing with immigration controls upon their arrival in Spain.
The car contains some messages that Nacho Cano’s entourage exchanged with the Mexican artists, as reported this Wednesday Vozpopuli. It should be remembered that the former member of Mecano is accused, along with two other colleagues – Cristina Karmiñe D. De S. and Roxana Gabriela D. De S. – of bringing to Spain from Mexico, and in an irregular manner, about twenty young people as tourists, avoiding the necessary procedures to participate in the show or develop any type of work activity. For this reason, an alleged commission of crimes against the rights of foreign citizens and crimes against the rights of workers has been opened, based on the evidence gathered to date by the National Police.
The producer’s team created a WhatsApp group with all those chosen to participate in the company. “R. was the person who informed them of all the details about their new activities in Spain, which would consist of a work day from 09:00 to 18:00 with a half-hour break at 12:00 and another 1-hour break for lunch at 13:00. […]. On weekends they should also collaborate with activities related to the production company,” reads the judge’s order, based on information prepared by the National Police.
