The WFS Indutry Awards ceremony will be digital

Due to the current situation of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, the WFS Industry Awards ceremony has had to be adapted and will be entirely digital. Since their creation in 2017, these awards have been presented as part of the annual congress that World Football Summit organizes every September in Madrid. Unfortunately, this year the congress had to be suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, WFS and its 'partners' have considered that it would be unfair to cancel these awards that have become a reference for professionals in the football industry around the world.

“In recent months the football industry has had to face the greatest challenge in its history and if it is managing to overcome it, it is thanks to talent, commitment and extraordinary work of its great professionals. We believe that this year more than ever they deserve to be awarded and with the support of our partners we are going to do it “, explains Jan Alessie, Director of the World Football Summit.

Besides getting to keep the awards ceremony also They have announced two new categories: Best Digital Platform and Extraordinary Innovative Initiative. With these two novelties, the categories of the WFS Industry Awards: 2020 are as follows: Best Executive presented by Nolan Partners (Best Executive), Best Supplier presented by SportsTechX (Best Supplier), Football for Good presented by Common Goal (Best Humanitarian Initiative) , Best Venue presented by Mondo Stadia, Best Club Commercial Initiative presented by McCann, Best Women's Football Initiative presented by Women in Football, Best Internationalization Strategy presented by Deloitte (Best Internationalization Strategy), Best Digital Platform presented by Seven League (Best Digital Platform) and Outstanding Innovation Initiative presented by N3XT Sports (Extraordinary Innovative Initiative)

The WFS Industry Awards will be held on November 27 as part of the WFS Live digital conference. The deadline for submitting candidatures will be open until October 18 on the WFS website. Winners will be announced on November 16 and they will be interviewed in a 20 minute session that will be part of the Official WFS Live Conference Program.
