The Spanish women’s handball team has taken a big step to qualify for the quarterfinals of the World Cup that is being played in Spain after beating Japan 28-26 on Wednesday at the Palacio de Deportes in Torrevieja (Alicante).
The ‘Warriors’ have experienced their first exam in the championship at the opening of the Main Round against a Japanese team that has put those of José Ignacio Prades in difficulties, who have known how to tighten on defense in the second half to end up getting rid of their rival and stand with six points in their group, matched with Brazil and already four ahead of Japan, Croatia and Austria.
