The U-21 continues to shine against Norway

MADRID, 27 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish Under-21 team added this Tuesday at the El Alcoraz Stadium, in Huesca, a new victory and a new win against Norway, which they defeated by a clear 3-0 in a friendly where, except in the first half, was quite superior.

After thrashing Romania with great authority (1-4) last Friday, Spain again showed signs of their quality and the potential of their academy, and although they had more difficulties due to the initial resistance of the Nordic team, they ended up signing a final hour of superiority so as not to get into trouble.

The goals from José Gragera, in the first half, and from Abel Ruiz and Hugo Novoa, at the beginning and at the end of the second, sentenced a new victory for Luis de la Fuente’s men who continue to progress in their coupling to attempt the assault to the continental throne in next year’s European Championship.

However, Norway did not provide any facilities at the start and managed to neutralize the traditional good combinative football of the ‘Little Red’, who had a hard time reaching Klaesson’s goal. On the other hand, the visitors had the best chance of the first section, in a clear one-on-one with Holm, who could not overcome a great Leo Román, who made his debut with the national team.

Spain took half an hour to give the first warning, with a great header from Alex Baena to a pass from Sergio Gómez, repelled in a great save by Klaesson, an occasion that ended up activating Luis de la Fuente’s men, who decidedly took command from the crash and they didn’t let him go.

Thus, Rodrigo Riquelme gave another warning after the consequent corner kick and minutes later, Abel Ruiz enjoyed another very good option in a quick transition after a rival loss, but, somewhat from a heel, he shot over the crossbar. In full Spanish domination, Alex Baena signed a great individual play that he could not finish, but Riquelme did, who could not beat Klaesson either, who sent the ball to a corner where Spain would find the prize with Gragera’s goal.

The goal on the stroke of halftime by the Sporting de Gijón midfielder ended up reactivating the U-21, which did not mind going through the changing rooms, especially because De la Fuente made changes to refresh the team, with a special mention for the entry by Bryan Gil.

The winger from Barbate led the team in attack in the second 45 minutes and a header from him after a great pass from Rodri, another of the relievers, to Abel Ruiz allowed the Sporting de Braga striker to make it 2-0 at the start of the second time. Norway suffered this blow and could not react, already locked up by the greater local quality and the speed of the Tottenham player.

The Nordic team was also unable to take advantage of the fact that the game opened in the final minutes, in which they appeared with a little more danger at the goal now defended by Miguel Ángel Morro, but without success. With the public delivered to Bryan Gil, it was Hugo Novoa who took the final lead with a great individual play in the area to make it 3-0 after 90.
