The Trinidad Alfonso Foundation will allocate almost 1.4 million euros to 40 clubs in the Valencian Community

MADRID, 8 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, an entity chaired by businessman Juan Roig, will allocate almost 1.4 million euros to the third edition of the aid program for teams in the Valencian Community, in which a total of 40 clubs participate.

“The objective is to promote clubs in the Valencian Community with teams that play in the main national categories of their respective sports,” the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation reported in a statement on Thursday.

The final aid assigned to each club has been determined based on the total budget of each of them and a series of variable parameters, such as the level of the league in which they participate, the number of athletes in the base, having teams of both genders , the presence of Valencians, or the capture of private sponsorships, among others.

The teams participating in this third edition belong to eight disciplines, including handball, volleyball, rugby, water polo and the modalities of field, in-line and roller hockey. Of the 40 clubs, ten will play this season in the highest category of their sport and three of them, such as Atticgo handball Elche, TM Benidorm handball and PAS Alcoi roller hockey will play European competition.

“We are clear that it could not be a one-time help, but that we were faced with the opportunity to go further and help all these clubs in the Valencian Community to shore up their structures and strengthen them sportingly, either avoiding the flight of talent and attracting it,” he explained. the director of the Foundation, Juan Miguel Gómez, about a project that was born due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
