The trick Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and Richard Branson share when planning their day

They are two of the most successful people in business and business today. And besides, they are friends. Warren Buffett and Bill Gates met many years ago at a dinner from which they have not stopped sharing advice about their investments and concerns.

However, despite his fortune, the older of the two, Buffet, knows very well that there is something that his fortune will not help him achieve: time.

“It’s the only thing you can’t buy. I mean, I can buy whatever I want, basically, but I can’t buy time.”the Berkshire Hathaway manager said in a 2017 conversation with Gates, hosted by host Charlie Rose.

Rose asks Gates what he has learned from Buffett. First, he learned that “it’s not necessarily a good idea to leave large sums to your children,” says the Microsoft co-founder. And then “a little paper diary Buffett showed Gates.”

“I also remember that Warren showed me his schedule.”says Gates. Buffett hands his little agenda to Rose for her to examine. “There’s nothing in it,” Rose says, flipping through the book.

“Absolutely,” says Buffett. “It’s very high-tech, be careful, you might not get it,” Gates joked.

Gates copied Buffet’s not scheduling so many tasks

“You know, I had all the minutes packed up and I thought it was the only way to do things,” says Gates. But, she says, Buffett taught her the importance of taking time to think.

“You control your time,” says Gates. “Sitting and thinking can be a much higher priority than a normal CEO, where there are all these demands and you feel like you have to go see all these people, have meetings. It is not a show of your seriousness that you fill every minute of your agenda “.

Branson also recommends scheduling time to think.

Richard Branson, the Virgin mogul, also recommends scheduling time to just think. “Put it on your agenda as if it were a meeting. Too many people are overwhelmed in doing and never take the time to think and feel. Take five minutes, an hour, a day, or even a vacation. If you free up some time to think freely, it will be much easier to see the big picture, “says Branson.

In other words, it seems that these three people, all of them among the richest in the world, have learned along the way to clear their agendas because it makes them more productive. They who can, that is also true.
