Uno-X will be the first Scandinavian team in the history of the gala round
MADRID, 4 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Tour de France confirmed this Wednesday the 22 teams that will start the 2023 edition, from Bilbao and with three stages in the Basque Country, with the presence of the Movistar Team as the only Spanish team and the debut, for the first time in history from the gala round of a Scandinavian team, from the invited Uno-X Pro Cycling Team.
The 110th edition of the Tour de France, which will live its ‘Grand Départ’ in the Basque Country and, specifically, in Bilbao, already knows which 22 teams will be at that start and who, of the candidates, will be the two teams invited by the organization.
Thus, on July 1 of this year, they will be in Bilbao together with the 18 teams from the highest category (UCI WorldTeams) and four from the second category (UCI ProTeams). On the one hand, those classified by merit and points achieved last year (the Belgian Lotto dstny and the French TotalEnergies) and, on the other, the guests Israel-Premier Tech (Israel) and Uno-X Pro Cycling Team (Norway).
It will be the first time in history that debutants in the Tour de France of the Uno-X take the start but, the milestone, goes further since no other Scandinavian team has ever taken the start of the Tour de France, the stage race most prestigious on the calendar.
As for the Movistar Team, as a member of the top category, it will be the only Spanish team in the 2023 Tour de France. The other guest, a position that could be chosen by Burgos-BH, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Equipo Kern Pharma or Euskaltel- Euskadi, was finally the Israel-Premier Tech.
“We are more than proud to announce that the Uno-X will be the first Scandinavian team to participate in both the Tour de France and the Tour Femmes 2023. See you in Bilbao in July. Long live the Tour!” the team wrote. Norwegian in their networks, with the part that concerns Bilbao in Basque.
