The tennis player Carla Suárez and her partner, the DUX Logroño footballer Olga García, will be mothers next year, Suárez announced this Tuesday, that she is three months pregnant.
“We wanted to announce that I am three months pregnant. It is already twelve weeks of tremendous joy to bring a new life into the world. Both Olga García, my partner, and I feel an enormous responsibility, it is a great pride for having taken this step and we I was excited to share it with all of you”, said the Gran Canaria in a statement.
Suárez explained that this Tuesday, after the ultrasound of the first trimester, they have verified that “the pregnancy is progressing on the right track.” “Fortunately, the medical team has confirmed that the pregnancy process is developing completely normally. This is fantastic news for us and fills us with hope for the near future,” he said.
“We still do not know the sex of the baby. What matters most to us right now, like to all people facing this moment, is that the pregnancy goes without complications and that the baby is in perfect condition,” he added.
Carla Suárez, 34, who has overcome Hodgkin’s lymphoma, retired as a professional tennis player at the end of 2021, after a match with the Spanish Federation Cup team in the Billie Jean King Cup.
“Olga and I really wanted to be able to expand the family. After my retirement from sports, while we were both still young, we thought it was the ideal time to face a process that fills us with joy and enthusiasm. We are very excited about what we are experiencing and with all the experiences that we soon hope to live”, he explained, assuring that they are “looking forward” to being able to see their new baby, who will be born at the end of June.
