The tender images of Carlos III reading the letters of support after the latest rumors about his illness

The monarch already said it a few days ago in his meeting with the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak: “I am excited by the messages I receive daily”. And Buckingham Palace has managed, since they announced the illness of Charles III, more than seven thousand letters, many of them with messages of encouragement and affection, others with messages of hope, signed by cancer survivors. This Friday, the Royal Family account shared images and a video showing the father of the príncipe Guillermo reading some of them visibly excited.

Messages, drawings and even jokes. One of them especially funny: a dog that tells him “At least you don’t have to carry the cone.” There are thousands of letters arriving from all over the world and the office of Charles III wanted to thank them all, showing the joy and enthusiasm with which the monarch receives them, who has even placed them in his office as a decoration. Unpublished and very unusual images that demonstrate, once again, the new strategy of closeness and transparency that the son of Isabel II has implemented since he received the Crown last June, and that contrast with the secrecy surrounding Kate Middleton’s illness.

The king announced that he had cancer on February 5. He was diagnosed during tests after undergoing surgery for an enlarged prostate at the London Clinic. “During the king’s recent hospital procedure for a benign enlargement of the prostate, another issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” the statement read. “Her Majesty has begun a regular treatment program today.” Charles III receives a treatment that combines radiotherapy and hormones and is administered every Monday in London, where he is transferred by helicopter from Sandringham, the country house where he is recovering.

Of course, they have shared the diagnosis without details. That is, they did not specify what type of cancer he suffers from. Therefore, the rumors have exploded. In recent days, some media have claimed that it is pancreatic cancer and that it is in an advanced stage, information that Buckingham Palace has not confirmed.
