The ten hopes of Leganés

Mehdi Nafti, Leganés’ new coach, he has a challenge ahead that is not easy. Saved with fewer points than Leganés

It was more complicated at the time the Extremadura (9 points in 2018-2019), Albacete (8 points in 2014-2015), Hércules (8 points in 2012-2013) and Huesca (7 points in 2011-2012), the only three teams of this period, of the last decade, that reached matchday 13 with fewer points than now adds up to Leganes and that they ended up saving the category. Those who did not succeed, in addition to the aforementioned Albacete from last year, were Nàstic (9 points in 2018-2019), Sevilla Atlético (7 points in 2017-2018), Real Madrid Castilla (7 points in 2013-2014) and Cartagena (9 points in 2011-2012). The missing team, Guadalajara, had 9 points at this point in the championship in 2012 and finished out of the relegation places, but dropped for administrative reasons.

On the negative side of the balance, of the 40 teams that fell in the last decade, 14 (35%) did so with more points even than those currently added by Leganés.
