The synchronicity in roses of Doña Letizia and Diana Morant: the colors of spring are already here

The King and Queen presided over the 2023 National Research Awards ceremony that took place at the Borja Ducal Palace this Thursday, March 14. The Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, accompanied Mr. Felipe and Mrs. Letizia.

Kings Felipe VI and Letizia have awarded these distinctions, which recognize the work of scientists from our country in the fields of archaeology, virology, mathematics, global change and biology.

Along with Doña Letizia were Minister Diana Morant and the president of the CSIC, Eloísa del Pino. Upon her arrival, the Queen and the head of Science spoke animatedly. Both were synchronized in the colors of spring, in the ranges of lilac and pink. A harmony that we have also seen in accessories. Don Felipe’s wife has combined her tailored trouser suit from the German brand Hugo Boss with a white crochet top. Meanwhile, Morant has combined her baby pink bullfighter jacket with an asymmetrical black pleated skirt. The minister was wearing thin-heeled leather boots.

These awards were created in 1982 in a first call called the Santiago Ramón y Cajal National Research Award. Subsequently, other categories have been established in different areas of knowledge, including the youth award and the Clara Campoamor Research Award, in the area of ​​law and economic and social sciences.

Don Felipe closed the event with a few words. He began his speech in Valencian and greeted the residents of Gandía, “a city of science”, he said. “Here, Francisco de Borja founded the first Jesuit university in Europe. And almost 5 centuries later, Gandía continues to be a cutting-edge reference with its campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.” The monarch stressed that “although it may seem like a mantra, it is necessary to reiterate that investing in science is investing in the future.” In his recognition, he has valued the work of the winners: “Know that you have our admiration and trust, as well as the firm and permanent support of the Crown. Spain needs you.”
