The Spotify Camp Nou, a new stop in the joint visits of FIFA and the 2030 World Cup candidacy

MADRID, 30 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spotify Camp Nou and the surrounding FC Barcelona facilities received a visit this Thursday from the expedition made up of representatives of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the ‘Yalla!’ candidacy. Let’s go!’, composed of Morocco, Spain and Portugal to organize the men’s World Cup in 2030.

“An expedition in which, as will be remembered, the representatives on the Steering Committee of the candidacy designated by the RFEF serve as hosts: María Tato, Jorge Mowinckel and Fernando Sanz,” reported the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in a release.

“Juan Fernández Carnicer, on behalf of the Higher Sports Council (CSD) and representing the Government of Spain, and the former Spanish national coach, Vicente del Bosque, also attended,” the press release added.

“The main objective of the group is to present to FIFA (whose representation is headed by Nicholas Rozenberg, director of Business and Strategy of the international organization) some of the candidate stadiums to host matches of this world tournament, which will be held in less than six years” , the press release stressed.

“But, in addition, the visits are serving so that part of the group – made up of representatives of the three football federations, as well as the Business Units created specifically for this project – can see the facilities in person,” summarized the note from the RFEF.

In this sense, the note noted that the visit to the Barça facilities “has served to evaluate first-hand the suitability of the Blaugrana stadium to be one of the venues for the 2030 World Cup, seeing live the details of the works at the Spotify Camp Nou and its progress”.

Joan Laporta, president of Barça, led the reception accompanied by Elena Fort, institutional vice president of the club. Barcelona City Council was also represented through its Sports Councilor, David Escudé, as well as the Catalan Football Federation.

THE WORKS OF THE CULÉ ENCLOSURE

The tour of the Camp Nou facilities included the recently inaugurated Barça commercial office, where the model of the future stadium could be seen, and other areas such as the 1899 Auditorium, where the complete Espai Barça project was presented after seeing the works.
