BARCELONA, 10 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Fútbol Club Darna, a sports club that emerged from the Darna Association – an entity that welcomes young migrants – in the Raval of Barcelona, will have the help of the Sportium Foundation to work for the “integration and inclusion” of these young people through of football.
With the hope of contributing to giving a better future to young people, the financial aid from the Sportium Foundation has helped cover different fixed expenses of the club and has also made it possible to produce the design of a new match kit, which has already been released in this start of the season.
Through the football club, sport is worked on as a tool for learning socio-emotional skills and developing skills for personal and social well-being, beyond sporting results.
FC Darna started in 2017 with its first futsal team, in 2019 they moved to federated 11-a-side football, competing in the Cuarta Catalana division of the Catalan Football Federation. All thanks to a structure of volunteers, starting with the coach, and the support of various organizations.
As part of a participatory process between the players and the Sportium Foundation, the new FC Darna first kit has been designed, a shirt with which all members feel identified and recognize its symbols. After four seasons with a single kit, FC Darna has started its fifth season with a shirt that bears the club’s colors and that provides the comfort of being able to compete with two possible kits.
FC Darna plays its home games at the municipal sports facilities of Barceloneta, and in its first home game this season, they have debuted the new kit, which has the collaboration of the Sportium Foundation.
Both Darna and Fundación Sportium wanted to take the first home game of the season to present the collaboration agreement between both entities. During the pre-match concentration, Spanish athlete Raquel González, ambassador of the Sportium Foundation, shared a motivational talk with the players about sports values.
“For the Sportium Foundation it is a true honor to be able to promote the integration of people and groups at risk of social exclusion through sport. With our support for the Darna Football Club we want to promote equal opportunities through fair play, effort, sacrifice, discipline and improvement,” said Raquel González.
