The Sporting of Portugal hires the coach of Braga Rúben Amorim

Portugal's Sporting announced on Thursday through the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) the hiring of Braga coach Rúben Amorim, who will replace current coach Jorge Silas, that last Tuesday he had already announced his departure.

According to Sporting, for the hiring of Rúben Amorim has had to pay the Braga a clause of ten million euros. Together with the Portuguese coach, who was a Benfica and international player with Portugal, his two Braga assistants, Adélio Cândido and Carlos Fernandes, will arrive.

Rúben Amorim achieved in two and a half months very positive numbers with the Braga, a team that began oriented by the former player of the Real Sociedad Sá Pinto and that, after a bad start league, was fired.

Since December 23, Amorim, 35 years old and who hung up his boots in 2017 after belonging to Benfica, has won in the league 8 victories – two of them to Benfica and Sporting – and a draw and, in addition, it was League Cup champion after beating Porto 1-0 in the final.

Rubén Amorim signed in 2008 for the Portuguese Benfica and arrived at the Portuguese team at the same time as the Spanish coach Quique Sánchez Flores, who catapulted him in his football career, since that same campaign debuted with the selection of the “quinas”.

As coach, his first team was Casa Pia luso, which he guided in the 2018-2019 campaign.

Custódio Castro, new coach of Braga

The exfutbolsita Custódio Castro will take over of the first team of Portuguese Braga as of this Thursday, after the Departure from Rúben Amorim, signed by Sporting de Portugal.

As confirmed by the bracarense club, Custodian Castro, who trained to the under-17 of the Braga, he already directed the first training of the Braga squad today.

The coaching staff will be completed with the trainers Micael Sequeira, Paulo Jorge, Hugo Freitas, Jorge Vital and Orlando Silva. Custódio Castro, 36, retired as a footballer in the summer of 2017, began his coach career as an assistant to Braga B in the same summer.
