The Spanish men’s soccer team will play their matches against Cyprus and Georgia in the 2024 Euro Cup qualifying phase at Los Campos de Sport de El Sardinero in Santander and the José Zorrilla Stadium in Valladolid, as confirmed on Tuesday by the president of the RFEF , Luis Rubiales.
“There are two home games left this year and they are the centenary of the Federation of Castilla-León and Cantabria, so the team will visit Valladolid and Santander. Spain-Cyprus will be at El Sardinero and Spain-Georgia at Zorrilla,” he said. The national team will face Cyprus at Racing Santander, where they have not played since 2008 (1-0 in a friendly against the United States) on September 11, while they will host Georgia on Sunday, November 19 at the stadium Real Valladolid, whose last visit was in 2006 (3-2 in a friendly against the Ivory Coast), in what will be the last qualifying match for EURO 2024.
When designating the venues, Rubiales recalled that they have signed an agreement with the Junta de Andalucía and that the team must play “two games each year” there and stressed the commitment to play at the La Cartuja Stadium, a “forgotten” facility ” that they have “revitalized” and that they hope can be the “host” of the candidacy for the 2030 World Cup.
