The Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE) announced this Thursday the launch of the Athlete Service Office, which will aim to provide Paralympic athletes with a support and advice service both during their sports career and in the stage that begins after the end of the competition.
This office aims to make a comprehensive, complete and permanent service available to athletes, “in which they are supported, advised and accompanied during their sports careers, so that they can focus on their performance and the achievement of their goals,” he said. the CPE.
In addition, “a fundamental importance is also given to the transition between high competition and later professional life, trying to improve the preparation of athletes to make the process easier, as well as to the post-competition stage itself, with the ultimate objective to favor the integration into the labor world of retired athletes “.
The Athlete Attention Office will be directed by Zuriñe Ibarra, head of the ‘Women and Sport’ program of the Spanish Paralympic Committee, and was born with the vocation of being a benchmark and a one-stop shop for athletes, in which services of information, attention, orientation and advice, always in coordination with the sports area of the ADOP Plan and with the rest of the CPE departments.
This department will act in areas related to training, the labor and professional field, legal or economic-financial aspects, as well as in medical or psychological matters, among others, and those athletes who have participated with the Spanish team may benefit from its services. in some Paralympic Games, both Winter and Summer, as well as those who have been beneficiaries of the ADOP Plan in any of the Paralympic cycles since its creation.
