The Spanish weightlifter Marcos Ruiz was proclaimed world champion in snatch this Friday during the championship being held in Manama, Bahrain, bronze overall Olympic in the 102 kg category.
Ruiz, who two years ago won silver in the snatch at the World Cup in Bogotá, took gold this time by lifting 183 kilos, a Spanish record. In addition, the Catalan, with two other national records, was fourth in two times, with 212 kilos, and finished third in the Olympic total (395).
