The Spanish dressage team obtained this Thursday one of the three places to go to the Olympic Games that were in contention during the European Equestrian Championship for this modality, held in the city of Hörstel (Germany) along the Riesenbeck International route .
Thus, the Spanish team was made up of Severo Jurado López riding ‘Fuerstenglory’, Alejandro Sánchez del Barco riding ‘Quincallo de Indalo’, José Daniel Martín Dockx riding ‘Malagueño LXXXIII’ and Juan Antonio Jiménez Cobo riding ‘Euclides Mor’.
Spain finished in ninth position with 213,727 points in total, at a rate of 70,947 for Jurado López, 71,584 for Sánchez del Barco and 71,196 for Martín Dockx. For his part, Jiménez Cobo achieved a score of 70,342, discarded a posteriori for being the lowest.
Along with Spain, the teams from Austria (7th, 216,119 points) and Belgium (8th, 214,582 points) won the other two Olympic tickets at stake. Gold went to the British team (242,220), silver to Germany (239,674) and bronze to Denmark (228,727).
