The solidarity foundation of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, classified as “delinquent” by the Californian authorities: they paralyze the activity until further notice

setback for Archewell Foundationthe charitable foundation they founded Harry from England y Meghan Markle after settling in the United States. On May 3, the organization received a notification from the California Department of Justice that has emerged this Monday in which they classify the foundation as “delinquent” for not having presented records of the money they have received as donations or reports of its activity.

The document, signed by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, and published by Page Six, warns the foundation to stop raising money or spending it until it submits the required documentation. It further informs that Archewell has been listed as “delinquent” on the register of charities and fundraising organizations for failing to submit its annual report and registration fees and adds: “An organization listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including the solicitation or disbursement of charitable funds.”

The California Department of Justice also warns that sanctions may be imposed and your registration may be suspended or revoked by the Registry.

The response from the Archewell board has been somewhat confusing, as at first they stated that they had requested an extension to submit the documentation. Later, they claimed that they had sent a check to the Prosecutor’s Office that appeared to have been misplaced, so they had sent a new one. According to those responsible, the foundation should return to its activity without problems as soon as the authorities review the reports.

Dumps in Nigeria

The news caught its creators on a three-day visit to Nigeria, a country that Meghan Markle has defined as her “homeland” after discovering in a DNA analysis that she has 43% Nigerian blood.

Despite the issues with Archwell, the couple announced an expansion of the partnership between the GEANCO Foundation in Abuja and their own foundation, adding mental health coverage to the project that works on menstrual health products and educational services for women and girls. of Nigeria. They will also include health resources and training for young men and women.
