The 2023 Solheim Cup trophy, the women’s golf team competition to be held at Finca Cortesín (Málaga) from September 18 to 24 next year, arrived at the Museum of Fine Arts in Seville on Monday, where it was received by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, Arturo Bernal.
Along with Bernal were José María Arrabal, General Secretary for Sports; Minerva Salas, territorial delegate for Tourism, Culture and Sports; Pablo Mansilla, Santiago Urquijo and Miguel Navarro, president, vice president and general secretary of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Vicente Rubio, president of the Finca Cortesín golf club; and Alicia Garrido and Iñigo Aramburu, President and CEO of Deporte & Business, the company promoting the event.
The former Convent of La Merced Descalza, a building that since 1835 has housed one of the most important art galleries in Spain, was also attended by the five Sevillian ambassadors of the Solheim Cup, since they will be in charge of ensuring that the trophy continues to tour the most outstanding places in the capital of Seville.
