The soccer players who attend the World Cup will have facilities for family reconciliation

MADRID, 29 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the players of the Spanish team have signed an agreement to establish family reconciliation measures for participation in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand to be held between July and August.

As indicated by the RFEF on Monday, the current captains of the national team, Ivana Andrés, Irene Guerrero and Esther González, signed this agreement with the organization’s president, Luis Rubiales, on behalf of all their teammates.

Specifically, the displacement of direct relatives of the players will be favored and articulated to accompany them during the championship and it will be made easier for players with sons and daughters under the age of two to have them close, the federation detailed.

“The agreement, signed this Monday but which was reached on May 16, becomes a benchmark in the world of football, incorporating conciliation measures that follow the model of other national teams,” the RFEF stressed.

This stressed the “additional effort in order to provide the best possible conditions for the soccer players, and find the best solutions so that the players receive the support of their closest circle during the championship”, and pointed out that these measures “are part of the policy of equalization of relative conditions between the men’s and women’s teams”.

Thanks to this agreement, players who have children under two years of age will have the option that their partners/caregivers and children can be close to them “during the entire concentration in New Zealand and Australia, so that they can have of a sufficient time for reconciliation on the days of the concentration”.

In the same way, the RFEF will also provide the means so that the direct relatives of the soccer players can travel to New Zealand and Australia during the tournament, including match days, in order to share moments with them.
