“The situation is not good, but we hope to turn around”

Alejandro Catena, center back of Rayo Vallecano, recognized this Monday that the situation they are going through in the league championship “is not good”, although he was confident “in turning around” the bad streak with a victory the next day against Granada.

Ten league games and only three goals. That is the balance of Rayo so far in 2022, a year in which they have only added two points out of thirty at stake, a record that has caused the team to collapse in the standings.

“The break has been good for us to take the games off our legs and our heads and prepare for an important game. The situation is not good, but we are not satisfied and we are not happy, so we hope to turn the situation around,” said Chainin statements released by the club.

The next league match is in Los Cármenes against Granada, a direct rival for permanence.

“We are looking forward to the match to compete and reverse this situation. We keep doing the same things as before but it is not giving us the same performance. It is a matter of being more successful in both areas at specific moments and we trust in what we have been doing. That’s the basis for moving this forward,” he said.

“We have to defend well, concede few chances, keep a clean sheet and take advantage of the ones we have. We have to be careful and effective in both areas, which is something that will help us win games”, he concluded.
