Kate Middleton’s younger sister turns 41 this Friday, September 6. Pippa Middleton, behind the scenes, has been the Princess of Wales’s unconditional support in her toughest year. The year in which she has faced a cancer diagnosis after undergoing abdominal surgery last February.
Pippa, who had always kept a low profile in the media, swept the press with that wonderful bridal look that she wore at her sister’s wedding to William at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. The very close Middletons form a pineapple with their brother James William, the three children of Carole and Michael. A family that is all for one and one for all. William of Wales’s sister-in-law married James Matthews, businessman and former Formula 1 driver, in 2017. As a result of their marriage, little Arthur Michael William was born.
The drama that has shaken the Middletons and brought them even closer together has been Kate’s illness. Focused on recovering, Prince William’s wife has been gradually resuming her public agenda (we saw her at Trooping The Colour in June and at the Wimbledon final in July) and is devoted to her role as a mother.
Kate, who is inseparable from George, Charlotte and Louis, is busy taking them to school, school plays and sports competitions. “She’s a person who wants to find solutions and get through the drama. She doesn’t want to waste time. She lives day to day and does the things she wants to do,” revealed Robert Jobson, author of Catherine, Princess of Wales; to the magazine Hello!
One gesture from the princess that has been touching was the letter sent by her communications office to a mother worried about her daughter. The woman, Kirsty Kerr, wrote to the princess “from mother to mother” explaining the case of her little girl, who is gluten intolerant and how this condition made her feel different and caused her anxiety about food. Kerr was very grateful to receive a reply. A few simple lines in which the princess sent through her team “her best wishes” to her and her family.
