The sheikh’s most Spanish Almería

There have been few seasons that the local dressing room of the Mediterranean Games Stadium a Congress of the United Nations Organization, with many and varied nationalities. The last years of Alfonso García, characterized by austerity and zero-cost movements, were marked by mostly national incorporations, something that was diluted with the arrival of Turki Al-Sheikh. It was in the third year of the sheikh when the most Spanish Almería returned Because even though the Vega de Acá offices claim not to look at the place of birth, betting on players with greater adaptability is key (same argument used when pulling the Portuguese market).

Up to eight footballers born in Spain are part of Rubi’s eleven, something that had not been achieved before with Saudi ownership. Fernando, Pozo, Chumi, Centelles, De la Hoz, Portillo, Curro Sánchez and Lazo are in the group of eleven players with the most minutes so far in the championship, along with Babic, Samu Costa and Sadiq. Bosnian Serb, Portuguese and Nigerian are part of the list of foreigners, which this year does not reach ten, junto to Makaridze, Carriço, Robertone, Ramazani, Appiah y Diego Sousa.

For its part, There are fifteen national players in Rubi’s squad, so the national product forms 62.5% of the total, by 48.4% from last season. In that long 20-21 squad there were up to 16 foreigners, five among the most used, the case of Makaridze, Maras, Samu Costa, Joao Carvalho and Sadiq. The six nationals with the most minutes were Cuenca, Balliu, Akieme, Morlanes, Corpas and Lazo.

In the 19-20 exercise, Turki Al-Sheikh’s first, there were 18 players born in Spain, Partly because of the legacy of Alfonso García, although the revolution throughout the season caused some like René, Gaspar, Ibiza or Chema to leave in winter and others like Francis or Barbero barely had minutes. In that course there were fourteen foreigners, Maras, Petrovic, Vada and Darwin being the foreigners who played the most minutes, with Fernando, Martos, Balliu, De la Hoz, Corpas, Lazo and Juan Muñoz on the other side. For its part, As far as coaches are concerned, three Portuguese (Pedro Emanuel, Mario Silva and José Gomes) have passed through the sheikh for two Spaniards (Guti and Rubi).
