Serbian Srdjan Jovanovic will be in charge of refereeing this Thursday the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals between Eintracht and FC Barcelona at Deutsche Bank Park (9:00 p.m.), UEFA confirmed on Tuesday.
Jovanovic, 35, will take charge of a Barça match for the first time in the continental competition. This same course, he dispensed justice in four Champions League games and two more in the Europa League, including two games in the recent round of 16 tie.
In the ‘Champions’ he whistled the first leg between Sporting de Portugal and Manchester City, which ended with a victory for Guardiola’s team by 0-5, and in the Europa League he whistled the first round of 16 match between Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen (3- two).
