The RFEF summons the Assembly on the 21st to elect president

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) formalized this Thursday the convocation of the General Assembly that will elect the president on Monday the 21st and the members of the Delegate Committee in the Ciudad del Fútbol of Las Rozas (Madrid).

This Friday, September 4, the deadline for the presentation of candidacies for president will end and the Electoral Commission will later proclaim the same. Possible appeals against these may be submitted to the Administrative Court of Sports (TAD) until Tuesday 8.

In compliance with the regulations and the electoral calendar and after the election on August 24 of the components of the General Assembly, the general secretary of the RFEF, Andreu Camps, on Thursday sent the communication of the session to the assembly members, summoned at 12.00 on Monday 21 in the first call and at 12:30 in the second.

The voting, the announcement of the results and the speech of the president, after verifications of the quorum and the appointment of verifiers of the minutes, are the only items on the agenda of the assembly that will be developed with special security measures.

Among them and according to the RFEF call, Assembly members will have to wear a mask on a mandatory basis, maintain a safety distance (1.5 meters) and will be subject to temperature control upon arrival at the venue, where they will have to respect the capacity and call shifts to cast the vote at the polls.

The Luis Aragonés room of the Ciudad del Fútbol will have limited capacity and the RFEF will install methacrylate partitions both at the accreditation counters and at the polling station, where voters will go according to a different up and down route.

The RFEF called in June elections to its presidency for August 17, if this month was considered suitable, or for September 17, if not, but the date was delayed after the CAS canceled them by default. , when estimating the claims of the Madrid Football Federation, Flat Earth FC, UD Los Barrios and Sergio Marcos González.

The concession on July 29 to the RFEF by the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM) of precautionary measures against the CAS decision allowed it to resume the electoral process, which It will culminate with the voting on the 21st, in which Luis Rubiales will choose to be reelected.

Luis Rubiales has held the position since May 2018, when he won the last elections after promoting a motion of censure against the board headed by Juan Luis Larrea after the development of Operation Soule in July 2017 and the suspension of Ángel Villar, who was president from 1988 until then.
