The RFEF made payments “not adequately justified” for more than €267M

The ‘Operation Soule’, the one in which various irregularities allegedly committed by the former president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) were investigated. Just as it gathers the information from El Mundo, the IGAE report collects some “fees of the referees, assistant referees, fourth referees and reporting delegates” amounting to 117,128,021 euros, as well as 52,018,761.86 euros allegedly used for the “contribution to grassroots football”. However, the fate of this last amount is also unknown. In this way, the “proceedings pending execution (expert reports, documentaries) that escape the work rhythm of this judicial body”, which allowed the investigation period to be extended for another three months, have ended up agreeing with Judge Alejandro Abascal, who He was the one who decided to extend the instruction period.

El Mundo also adds that the “IGAE (General Intervention of the State Administration) explains that there is no traceability between accounting and bank documentation to control the money that the RFEF received from LaLiga”. And it is that in the report mentioned above, in which the funds transferred by the National Professional Soccer League (LNFP) during the period from 2009 to 2017 are broken down, it is concluded that “endless operations were carried out with this money without duly accrediting their destination”.
