The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced this Wednesday that it has “provisionally” awarded the tenders for the next four seasons, from 2024-2025 to 2027-2028, for the VAR to Mediapro, while the new semi-automatic offside (SAOT) Hawk-Eye will be the company in charge of implementing it.
In this way, Mediapro will once again be in charge of the video refereeing service in LaLiga EA Sports and LaLiga Hypermotion, after the federation granted it exclusively from 2019 to Hawk-Eye Innovation, a company that will now be responsible for the defendant outside semi-automatic game, the main novelty for the next campaign.
These awards come after the Federation began a new process at the beginning of September following a complaint made by Mediapro in Commercial Court number 2, which also caused Hawk-Eye Innovation to be the provider of the VAR during the current 2023-2024 season. .
