Officials from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the recently created Professional Women’s Football League (LPFF) held a meeting this Monday at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas (Madrid) to start working “to reach a coordination agreement for the next season”, according to the RFEF.
On behalf of the federation, Ana Álvarez, director of the Department of Women’s Soccer; María Tato, from the International Area and former director of Women’s Soccer in the Federation; and Patricia González, from the Legal Department, while the league was attended by its general director, Pablo Vilches, and his legal advisor, Santiago Nebot.
The RFEF indicated that these three women “will be in charge of the negotiations that must culminate in a document that establishes the main aspects in which both parties must coordinate, in order to ensure that the first edition of the Women’s Professional Soccer Competition be a success.”
The body chaired by Luis Rubiales recalled that Ana Álvarez, María Tato and Patricia González have “great experience in organizing women’s football competitions, as well as a professional career in the sector of great reputation and recognition”.
In addition, he stressed that his “priority” for this coordination agreement of this new competition is its “international projection” and that for this reason his objective is to advise it “from his extensive background”.
