The Royal Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC) announced this Thursday that it will organize a recruitment conference next November in order to discover new talents of cyclists with disabilities to ensure the future of the national team.
As indicated by the RFEC, these days, which will take place from November 19 to 21 in the Cuenca town of Tarancón, are held “with the aim of continuing the successful sports line” of today with cyclists such as Alfonso Cabello, Ricardo Ten , Sergio Garrote or ‘Kuki’ López and in search of discovering “new talents that can develop in the competitive field and join the national team in the medium and long term.”
Those interested must meet requirements such as having Spanish nationality on the date of the conference, be between 11 and 40 years of age on December 31, 2021, be affected by some of the eligible disabilities in adapted cycling according to its regulations (physical disability , cerebral palsy, acquired brain damage and deficiency), be motivated towards training and competition, and know how to ride a bicycle, handbike and / or tricycle.
The RFEC clarified that these days will be limited to 20 participants and its technical team will be in charge of selecting those 20 final participants based on technical criteria. In addition, it will assume the travel and accommodation expenses of those selected.
