The RFEBM will distribute 230,000 euros among the clubs of the 2023-24 Guerreras Iberdrola League

MADRID, 22 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM) will allocate 230,000 euros to the clubs participating in the 2023-24 Liga Guerreras Iberdrola from the collaboration agreement reached with Iberdrola, the main sponsor of the top national women’s handball competition.

For the fifth consecutive season, the federation will distribute the money voluntarily, which is the same amount as last season, based on the benchmarks set for improving the working conditions of the players.

The distribution of this amount is obtained from the markers derived from the type of contracts and the contribution of each club to Social Security, which has experienced a substantial increase in this campaign, since 64% of the players in the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola are contributing over 100%, and almost 97% exceed 50% in their contribution; in fact, only 4% are below the 50% threshold.

“This reality reinforces the RFEBM’s commitment to regularising the working conditions of female players, and the efforts being made by the clubs, aspects that enhance the competition itself,” the RFEBM stressed.

Thus, the Aula Alimentos de Valladolid will receive 17,098 euros; the BM La Calzada, 13,495; the Atticgo BM Elche, 16,052; the Conservas Orbe Rubensa BM Porriño, 19,853; the Gurpea Beti-Onak Azparren Gestion, 21,558; the KH-7 BM Granollers, 19,894; Club Balonmano Atlético Guardés, 20,684; the Rincón Fertilidad Málaga, 26,182; the Rocasa Gran Canaria, 24,003; the Club Deportivo Básico Oviedo Balonmano, 14,912; the Super Amara Bera Bera, 25,143; and the Club Balonmano Femenino Elda, 11,124.

After analysing the resulting ratio and considering the total number of contracts with Social Security, Costa del Sol Málaga will be the club that receives the highest amount, with 26,182 euros and 16 contracted players (14 full-time). It is followed by Super Amara Bera Bera, with 25,143 euros and 17 contracted players (12 at 100%), and Rocasa Gran Canaria, with 24,003 euros and 15 contracted players (12 full-time).

Also surpassing the 20,000 euro barrier are Gurpea Beti-Onak Azparren Gestión, with 21,558 euros and 16 contracted players (10 at 100%) and Mecalia Atlético Guardés, with 20,584 euros and 17 contracted players (9 at 100%).

“This decision by the RFEBM to allocate this significant amount of the agreement with Iberdrola to promote the commitment to improving the working conditions of female players remains a fundamental pillar of the strategic development plan for women’s handball, agreed with Iberdrola and the Higher Sports Council, through the General Subdirectorate of Women and Sport, within the Universo Mujer III programme,” said the RFEBM.
