MADRID, 15 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish women’s field hockey team lost again this Sunday to Argentina (0-1) in the second of the two FIH Pro League matches played this weekend between the two at the Virgen del Carmen-Beteró Sports Center in Valencia.
After a first quarter of an hour of great intensity and equality, the South American team took command with a shot that went over the goal and a missed penalty corner. The ‘Red Sticks’ responded with another unsuccessful penalty, before Clara Ycart, on the goal line, avoided the visitor’s goal.
However, after the break, Adrian Lock’s men conceded the only goal of the clash, the work of Agustina Albertario (min.32). Fernando Ferrara’s team was able to increase the account a little later, but failed from the penalty spot.
Marta Segú, on two occasions, was able to equalize for the Spanish; in the first of them she was opposed by Cristina Cosentino, while in the second her shot went out of her by millimeters. Spain will return to the FIH Pro League on the 20th and 21st of this month, where they will face Belgium in a double commitment.
