The records that CR7 can break in the European Championship

Cristiano Ronaldo can break several records at this European Championship, which will join the ones he already has. Some of those who, at 36, will beat or can beat: the current Juventus player will become the first to play 5 final phases of the tournament. And by scoring just one goal, CR7 will be the top solo scorer in the final stages of the Euro. Brands that would join the ones you already have.

Top scorer alone

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently tied at 9 goals with Michel Platini (all of the French scored in Euro 1984, which he won with the 'bleu' team). The first for CR7 was in Euro 2004, his debut, against Greece, on June 12, 2004. Cristiano Ronaldo and Platini are followed, with 7, by Englishman Alan Shearer.

Most games played (including qualifying)

Another mark within the reach of the Portuguese captain is that of the most games played in the Eurocup, including the qualifying round. He has 56 games (36 wins, 12 draws and 8 losses). He needs to play 3 more to overcome Gianluigi Buffon's 58 with Italy. Buffon and CR7 are followed by Mario Frick (Liechtenstein).

Oldest scorer in a final

If the European champions Portugal reached the final and CR7 scored, they would be the oldest player to do so. Only one player over 30 has scored in a European Championship final: Bernd Hölzenbein, who was 30 years and 103 days old when he drew for the Federal Republic of Germany against Czechoslovakia in 1976 and forced extra time. Antonin Panenka decided in the shootout with his legendary penalty for the Czechs. CRR7 will be 36 years and 156 days on July 11, the date of the final.

More final stages played

When he plays in Portugal's first match at this European Championship, against Hungary, he will become the player with the most final stages of that tournament played: 5. There are 17 who played 4, starting with Lothar Matthäus with Germany and Peter Schmeichel with Denmark in 2000.

The records that Cristiano already has

The most games played in a final phase: 21 (followed, with 18, by Bastian Schweinsteiger with Germany.

Most goals (including qualifying): 40 (followed by Zlatan Ibrahimović, with 25, and Robbie Keane, 23.

Most finals in which he has scored: 4 (2 goals in 2004, 1 in 2008, 3 in 2012 and 3 in 2016).
