The Rafa Nadal Academy and LaLiga join forces for sport

LaLiga and the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar presented their framework collaboration agreement this Monday that will have an initial validity of three years. The event was attended by Rafael Nadal and the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas. Óscar Mayo, LaLiga's Director of Business, Marketing and International Development, and Maribel Nadal, sister of the Balearic tennis player and commercial and Marketing director of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, also participated.

The agreement serves “to export the Spain brand, the talent and the image of sport, and also to expand the activities of the Academy through communication,” according to Mayo. Nadal, who is still recovering from his back injury and will not play in Miami, intervened precisely from the Manacor facilities and only answered the questions of the moderator. “For us it is a very beautiful project. LaLiga is one of the most powerful Spanish brands we have in the world. For us who are expanding it is important to unite. He is a benchmark in the world of football, but he has already left that field and is doing incredible things. He is a sensational partner for us and we are sure to do nice things “, he expressed.

“I am very excited that the academy is linked to the best league in the world. It is an incomparable product. They are getting me to have more impact on world society than ever and I realize that when I travel, “continued the winner of 20 Grand Slams.

Enduring legacy

Tebas enthusiastically greeted the agreement and praised the player's project: “The Rafa Nadal Academy is the durability over time of Rafa's values, the culture of effort. Someday he will stop competing, but he will have a legacy that will continue. Talent is formed there, but there is also academic training, which is very important and creates freedom. In LaLiga we do it too. You may be talented, but training gives you freedom. We want to extend those values over time. “

The president of the club association justified the professional football league's support for other sports. “It goes with our values. If sport goes well, football and LaLiga will do well. We have been fortunate that Spanish society has ranked us as the best league in the world. It would be incredibly selfish not to give back to Spanish society where it has placed us. Rafa Nadal is the best athlete in the history of Spain, and we have to take advantage of that. More than helping, soccer is with other sports “, stressed.

The leader spoke of Nadal's future participation in Monte Carlo (“I wish him 20% luck, because the rest is justice and work,” he said), although it has not yet been confirmed, as is the Majorcan's contest at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. “What you need more than luck is being able to work,” Rafa replied.
