The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 124-132 during the day this Saturday – early in the morning in Spain – in the NBA, but without the Spanish power forward Santi Aldama in the Tennessee franchise due to his recent left ankle injury.
Despite another prolific victory at the Smoothie King Center, the Grizzlies lamented a new injury to an important man, as their point guard Ja Morant left the court at 4:13 to end the third quarter after complaining about his right shoulder in a block with Daniel Theis.
Morant had 25 points and seven assists when he went to the locker room to be treated by his team’s medical services. However, although the Dalzell point guard did not return to the court and stayed on the bench cheering, Jaren Jackson Jr. led another good result for the Grizzlies thanks to his 33 points and five rebounds.
Thus, the Memphis team placed second in the West with a balance of 22-10; Meanwhile, the Pelicans remain last in that Conference at 5-27. Also in the doldrums are the Brooklyn Nets (12-19 record) coached by Spaniard Jordi Fernández, thanks to their 87-96 loss to the San Antonio Spurs (16-15 record).
