The president of Hertha Berlin dies suddenly at the age of 43

BERLIN, Jan. 16 (dpa/EP) –

The president of Hertha Berlin, Kay Bernstein, has died unexpectedly at the age of 43, the German second division club reported this Tuesday.

“Hertha BSC is mourning the death of Kay Bernstein. The club received the terrible news on Tuesday that president Kay Bernstein has died unexpectedly at the age of 43. The entire club, its officials and staff members are shocked and deeply saddened by the news,” Hertha wrote on the social network X, formerly Twitter.

The club, however, has not revealed the cause of death. Bernstein, a former Hertha player, had been president of the club since June 2022.
