The Premier League announces 16 new positives

The Premier League announced on Monday that a total of 16 people have tested positive in the last week in the two rounds of tests carried out on the players, coaches and employees of the 20 clubs.

The new figure shows a decrease of more than 50% in new cases after performing 3,115 tests in two test rounds. As always, the Premier did not name the people who tested positive, but said they will isolate themselves for 10 days.

“The Premier League can confirm today that between Monday, January 11 and Sunday, January 17, in two rounds of testing, 3,115 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, there were 16 new positive tests ”.

Last week the duel between Aston Villa and Everton was postponed due to the outbreak registered in the Birmingham team.

Since the 2020-21 season began, 223 people in the English top flight have tested positive for coronavirus in 21 rounds of tests.
