The Premier asks that the fans return to the stadiums “as soon as possible”

Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters said it is “absolutely critical” that fans are able to return to the stadiums “as soon as possible” or else the clubs in the English football honor division will face millions in losses.

According to Masters, the total economic impact on the 20 clubs in the competition could be 700 million with a view to the 2020-21 season. The new Premier League campaign kicks off this Tuesday and will do so behind closed doors, like all league games since it resumed in June.

“We have to get the fans back to the stadiums as quickly as possible, It is what we miss the most economically and in other ways. It is priority number one, “Masters told the British network BBC.

At the moment no plans for fans to return to the fields until at least October; and this week the Premier announced that all the meetings in September will be televised by the different operators, a measure that was previously blocked to encourage attendance at stadiums.

“It is not only what is not generated inside the stadium, it is that each Premier League match, on average, generates 20 million for the local and national economySo we want to play our part to recover the economy, “said the manager.

For now about 2,500 spectators were tested in a friendly between Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea, while in Scotland already from this weekend it will be tested with a small group of fans in the matches of Aberdeen and Celtic.
