The poll and predictions for Duke vs. Syracuse for men’s basketball

As Durham plays Duke on Tuesday night, Syracuse will be in the game. The orange team will be focusing on making it five wins in a row in tough conditions.

They defeat the Pittsburgh Panthers 81–73 in ACC play on Saturday. There are a lot of chances that will make the Blues Devils (9-3) a big favorite in college basketball.

They beat the University Royals (106–69) this past weekend. It’s still very unlikely that the Orange will win.

At the start of the time of year, this match was seen as a win, but the Orange have proved tricky lately.

We’ll see if that’s sufficient to keep them in the game in our free college basketball picks and predictions for January 2.

This evening, the Syracuse Duke (9-3, 0-1) is the team that the Orange (10-3, 1-0) meet at Durham, North Carolina.

The Orange have one more chance to take a Quad One game and get into the NCAA Tournament.

It will be interesting to see how this younger Orange club plays in their third road ACC game. I hope this game is a lot closer than the last one between Syracuse and Virginia.

Kyle Filipowski is a tough task for Syracuse, so Maliq Brown is going to wish to avoid getting fouled because he’ll probably be put on defense.

Kevin, I’m also interested in how the Syracuse side can stay together on the road at Duke. It’s always a tough place to play, but it will be even worse following their embarrassing loss with Virginia.

The Blue Devils can score from a lot of different spots on the court. In contrast to Pitt, I believe that Syracuse is capable of making just 17% of their three-point shots and still win.

The Orange perimeter men (Bell, Taylor, Williams, as well as Brown) might not be able to do much to stop Duke’s defense or keep the ball in their hands. Things might quickly get worse.

When I see this game, I remember when Duke trounced Syracuse at the Dome in the 21-22 season. Like that Duke team, this 23-24 group has a lot of big and tall guys who could play in the NBA.

Also, Syracuse hasn’t won a regular-season game against Duke since 2017. It would be simple to back Duke just given their past and the fact that they have great players.

There’s also the fact the Blue Devils have the same number of points compared to the Orange teams.

A scary vibe comes from Durham. Judah Mintz keeps the Orange at the game at first, but they’ll probably lose at the second half.

The fact that five Duke players score over 10 runs a game shows how strong their offense is.

They could hurt you inside or outside of the three-point zone. So I think the same situation will happen again.

I saw what took place to a Virginia side that wasn’t as good within Richmond a month ago. Either we’ll find evidence that we’re all loyal jerks or we’ll see things as they really are.

It’s unlikely that SU will survive through this, though, unless Duke lets up. Cuse got lucky a few times because other teams have missed goals and hit bricks instead.

There is no doubt that their Blue Devils can score from anywhere on the court, though. Orange has played well in their last few games, but tonight they are going to drop there fifth straight game.

Duke is strong in many areas, and Filipowski is hard to beat. I think Syracuse knows how to handle him, but Scott Roach is skilled and Jared McCain is still strong.

The sophomores on this team have never played to Cameron prior to, which may be an intimidating location to play. Naheem McLeod and Benny Williams are the only people who have played in a match at Duke.
