The Paris Masters, without an audience after the second closing of France

The Paris Masters, the last of the season, will finally be held from November 2 to 8 without fans in the stands of the 'Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy'after the decision of the French Government, which has approved new restrictions in the country to contain the coronavirus.

The tournament, which will be played by the Spanish Rafa Nadal, had planned to occupy its stands with a minimum part of the capacity (1,000 spectators), but the new measures announced this Wednesday by the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, they prevent it from being this way and the whole competition will be played behind closed doors.

The Rolex Paris Masters, whose classifications will begin on Saturday, October 31, has been affected by the new confinement decreed in France from the weekend. Even the organization of the tournament has explained that the Government must specify whether sports competitions can be held under this state.

The FFT understands and at the same time regrets the situation

This Thursday the French Tennis Federation and the organizers of the Rolex Paris Masters issued a statement stating that “Since the beginning of the health crisis, the French Tennis Federation has worked in constant communication with the Government of France to define the organizational options allowed by the current situation”, besides adding that “Consequently, the FFT has made the responsible decision to hold the Rolex Paris Masters behind closed doors.”

In the statement the FFT acknowledges that “He is aware of the disappointment that people will feel at not being able to attend the tournament, but we want to thank everyone for their understanding. and we assure them that their tickets will be refunded as soon as possible. “
